Wildly popular in Malaysia where they are kept as house pets, the Serama is an enchanting breed. They are the smallest poultry breed in existence, weighing between 12 and 20 ounces. Their small size stands in stark contrast to their huge personalities, particularly the roosters. Roosters have a proud, upright and stately stance but they are full of funny antics. Hens are lovely and calm. The Serama was imported to the US in 2001 by Jerry Schexnayder of Louisiana.
